Troubleshooting SonarQube Plugin

Troubleshooting

Rules Not Showing in SonarQube

  • Make sure that plugin jar files have been placed in $SONARQUBE_HOME/extensions/plugins and that you have restarted the SonarQube service. Check for errors/exceptions in the SonarQube log folder.
  • If you don't have the report path set (Step 4: Configure the Visual Studio Team Services Build Process in How to: Install SPCAF SonarQube integration article.)  then the plugin won't be launched by SonarQube. The message "SPCAF: Report path key not provided - Presuming analysis unwanted" will be shown for each language in the log for the SonarQube Upload Task.

Exception showing report is not where it is expected

  • Ensure that the same path is used for the report output, and it is set to XML for SPCAF (Step 5: Configure the Visual Studio Team Services Build Process in How to: Install SPCAF SonarQube integration article.) and this matches the value entered for SonarQube in Configure the Visual Studio Team Services Build Process Step 4.
